About Us

We are a family-run business that has been offering catering in Oxfordshire for 28 years, using local, organic and fairly traded food way before it was a ‘thing’! We have always operated with ethical considerations, paying fair, including diverse staff, supporting and encouraging staff, paying suppliers fairly and really valuing our customers. We are a family of mum and four adult kids (as well as two small ones). We have heritage in Southern Europe, North Africa, Middle East and African Caribbean! Our food is therefore eclectic and we love global, fresh and vibrant flavours.

Meet The Team

Pippa (Mum) and Keda Hamwee (Daughter)

Founder, Head Chefs and Operational Management.

Pippa has worked in the catering industry for 28 years. She believed she would have a career in humanitarian aid as she gained a degree in Politics and Economics whilst raising her children, but their livelihood depended on Hospitality. She started by cooking for individuals and small events in the Cotswolds and since has catered many diverse and exciting events. She has also set up a deli, managed a large pub and events venue, developed local cafes, and consulted on local projects. Pippa loves the creative process of developing hospitality offers and believes in hospitality as a valuable service.

Keda has been working in the family business for over ten years. She is experienced in all aspects and a huge help (when she's not travelling!).

Isis (Daughter)

Isis is the eldest of the six children and able to take the reins when needed. She is patient, kind and responsible. As her career, she is a Primary School Teacher, but is always ready to get involved in school holidays or at the weekends. She has fifteen years experience of helping with and managing the family business.

Joe (Son)

Joe is currently exploring the culinary delights of Australia and Thailand. As well as working with Fig & Honey, he has worked as a barman and completed a two year chef qualification at Hertford college in Oxford.

Aisha (Daughter)

Currently studying law at Bristol Uni, but we still rope her in when we need her .

She keeps us in line with her clever and disciplined ways!

Ayana and Eshi (Daughters)

These youngest two think they are the real bosses! They are definitely the chief tasters and critics.

Louise (Associate Events Planner)

For larger events and weddings we recommend you engage the services of our affiliated events manager, Louise Spackman, who can assist with the following:

Guest list management
Design and print of materials such as invitations, menus and seating plans
Event space decor, hire of equipment from tables and chairs through to decorations
Floral displays
Bar services in association
Entertainment
Staffing
